Moreover The AF drive motor is very quiet, ideal when near-silence is required.

MOD

Achieves an MOD of 0.18m (7.1 in) and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7

Close focusing has also been improved. The MOD of the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is 0.18m (7.1 in) at the wide 28mm end with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. This allows photographers to capture powerful shots that emphasize the perspective effects unique to wide-angle photography when shooting close-ups. FAQ

Question 1:

Is this lens good for portrait photograph?

Answer:

A 1.8 f stop prime would be ideal but this is very good

Question 2:

How is this lens compared to the kit lens in term of image quality?

Answer:

Depends on the kit lens. If it is the Zeiss 24 – 70 mm f/4 it is vastly superior. Faster, sharper and autofocus is much better. Compared to the Sony 24 – 105 f/4, it is comparable but faster with the proviso that the wide angle lens is reduce (28 v 24) otherwise I prefer this lens. It is a nice alternative to the Sony 24 – 70 f/2.8 at a much nicer price.

Question 3:

does it compatible with 6400?

Answer:

If it’s an e mount then it’s compatible and it’s also compatible with any e mount camera. Just keep in mind that since the a6400 is a crop sensor you’ll get a crop in the lens
